So a church in Florida says its going to burn some Quran’s. Is that the right way to make a point? Probably not, but since when do we back down from anything simply because the Sunni Muslim institution of learning, and the Al-Azhar University in Egypt are in an uproar about it.
The Quran, according to Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center, is “evil” because it espouses something other than the Christian biblical truth and incites radical, violent behavior among Muslims.
Now I don’t think he has too much legal ground to stand on when he argues biblical truth, since the Bible and the Quran are faith based documents that explain history as interpreted by their own people. As for his point about radical violent behavior among Muslims….you would have a hard time disagreeing with that one.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley has stated, that the plan to burn copies of the Quran is “un-American” and says it does not represent the views of most people in the U.S. Ummm hello P.J. what country are you living in? I am not going to make the leap that most people in America believe that burning the Quran is the right answer but maybe you should check a poll homeboy.
Secretly and publicly many people would have no problem with an act that causes pain to Muslims around the world. Why you might ask? Because you like your boss have forgotten our pain. Every year around 9-11 we do documentary after documentary showing all the left over lives ruined by these Muslim crazy men and still this administration insinuates that we played a part in our own demise. That somehow our own arrogance or George Bush, or foreign policy was to blame.
The actions of these murderous, cowardly bastards who killed our people were led by religious zombies who preached, believed, and committed acts against us because of their interpretation of the Quran.
Gen. David Petraeus warned that “images of the burning of a Quran would undoubtedly be used by extremists around the world to inflame public opinion and incite violence.”
Pastor Jones has a different take. “maybe instead of addressing us, we should address radical Islam and send a very clear warning that they are not to retaliate in any form.”
My opinion is that they are both right. The General I’m sure doesn’t need any additional poop to deal with considering the difficulty of his job. Still, since when does America the great and powerful bend or cower because some religious crazy threatens us. We are a country founded on freedoms and rights but we aren’t going take any crap because you have a belief that comes from the Quran.
The Islamic rule book is not sacred to me or anyone I know. I don’t give two shits about how respectfully Muslims believe it should be handled. I am seeing a one way street when it comes to tolerance here people.
The Quran incites violence and the people who study and believe it kill our people. They cut off the heads of our citizens and murder the innocent because of their maniacal interpretation of this supposed sacred book. Any intentional damage or show of disrespect to the Quran may be deeply offensive to Muslims but I assure you that most in this country could care less and a good number will give Pastor Jones a “good on ya” even if we disagree with his method.
I will never get over Americans who feel that they must always take the high road of morality. “Oh we can’t sink to their level”, while whole countries laugh at how weak we have become. When’s the last time whole groups of Christians burned down a Mosque because of mistreatment of the bible? Or have you ever seen violence towards Muslims because a Mosque was planned too close to ground zero?
YET!!
